THE JOB Hy-Tech is adding a Millwright to our growing team. The Millwright is responsible for installation, repair, overhaul and maintenance of machinery and heavy mechanical equipment. This role performs routine maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment, adjusting valves and seals, and investigating breakdowns to ensure that equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate. The Millwright troubleshoots major and minor mechanical problems and evaluates whether repair or replacement are the correct options. We are looking to add an ambitious, well-rounded individual to carry out the following key responsibilities: * Identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance. * Monitor consumable parts and notify Lead Hand if additional stock is required. * Inspect equipment to determine the root causes for defects and excessive wear. * Participate in welding/fabricating equipment. * Perform new builds, repair, and preventative maintenance to equipment according to the Work Instructions and manufacturers’ specifications, and accurately records information on Shop Maintenance Forms. * Clean, lubricate, and adjusts parts when assembly and maintenance is complete. Paints equipment as needed. * Inspect and test assembled and repaired equipment for proper performance before sending the equipment back to the field. * Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose problems with equipment returning from the field. * Consult with the Lead Hand to weigh the cost of repair to replacement and determines the most efficient and safe method of repair to minimize equipment downtime. THE SETTING This position is based out of the Company Headquarters in Smithers, BC. Shop work environment. There is also a requirement to work outside in all weather conditions. Possible exposure to dust, hazardous chemicals, and high levels of noise. THE SCHEDULE Standard working hours are 6:00am – 2:30pm Monday to Friday. There will also be some requirements to be available after hours and on weekends during busy times. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS * 3-5 years of millwright experience in a related industry. * Red Seal Certification in Millwright trade is required. * Knowledge of diamond drill equipment and drilling methodologies is an asset. * Strong understanding of schematics and manufacturers’ manuals to support repair and maintenance. * Strong Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot, diagnose, and make repairs to a wide range of hydraulic systems, electrical, and mechanical equipment. Basic welding ability is required. * Ability to thrive in a challenging and fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities. * Maintain high-quality standards and be a positive ambassador for Hy-Tech. * Work independently and as part of a team, developing strong relationships. * Perceive the bigger picture, tailoring your actions to achieve strategic objectives. * Must have a valid driver’s licence and provide a current drivers abstract annually.
