Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Type of materials: Aluminum alloys. Composite materials. Non-ferrous materials. Non-metallic materials. Stainless steel. Steel, iron and heavy metals. Zirconium. Welding techniques: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW). Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Spool. Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine. Butt or seam resistance welding machine. Gas welding machine. Soldering machine. Spot welding machine. Electrical wiring devices. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity.
