This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr Broadcast Technician based in Canada. As a Senior Broadcast Technician, you will join a professional broadcast engineering team responsible for keeping critical studio, transmission, and digital broadcasting systems running reliably. You will provide hands-on technical support to on-air teams, internal staff, and remote users across a variety of broadcast environments. The role combines installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of studio automation, digital audio and video, and AM/FM transmission systems. You will also contribute to capital projects, technical planning, site documentation, and the coordination of broadcast technicians. This position offers a dynamic environment where technical expertise, calm problem-solving, and customer focus are essential. You will work both independently and collaboratively, with opportunities to support evolving broadcast technologies and infrastructure. The role also includes rotating after-hours on-call responsibilities, occasional travel, and hands-on work with professional broadcast equipment. Accountabilities Provide personalized technical support to on-air personnel, internal teams, and remote employees, including troubleshooting and remote assistance for work-from-home users. Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair broadcast studio systems, including automation and associated technical infrastructure. Maintain and support digital broadcast systems, including live-streaming audio and video technologies. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot AM and FM transmission systems, including microwave systems and related subsystems. Create, update, and maintain complete technical site documentation, including federally mandated transmitter logs and other required records. Contribute to the planning, coordination, and execution of capital projects involving broadcast technology and infrastructure. Coordinate and collaborate with other internal divisions and technical teams to ensure effective project execution and operational continuity. Coordinate and supervise broadcast technicians, providing technical guidance and support when required. Participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule to respond to technical issues and maintain broadcast continuity. Travel occasionally to support technical operations, projects, installations, or maintenance activities. Follow established technical, operational, safety, and documentation standards while maintaining a strong focus on service reliability. Requirements Demonstrated professional experience working in a technical support or broadcast engineering environment. Strong expertise with modern computer systems, networks, digital audio networks, broadcast automation, and transmission systems. Experience with networking technologies in a broadcast environment is considered an asset. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic systems effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose technical issues under pressure. Proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to complete projects and technical tasks with minimal supervision. Calm and professional demeanor when handling challenging or time-sensitive technical situations. Strong customer-service orientation and ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users. Valid provincial driver's license. Physical ability to lift and handle broadcast equipment and safely work on ladders below 2 meters. Willingness to work flexible hours when operationally required and participate in a regular after-hours on-call rotation. Ability and willingness to travel occasionally as required by the role.
