About The Role We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of robotic and automated manufacturing systems. Your expertise will ensure that our automation equipment operates at peak performance, contributing directly to our production efficiency and product quality. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production teams to deploy robotic cells, perform preventive and reactive maintenance, and optimize automation processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting Ecolab’s commitment to innovation and excellence. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in automation and control systems, with relevant experience in industrial robotics, electrical systems, and automation troubleshooting. A background in Automation, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related fields is essential. Prior experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing automated manufacturing equipment is required, along with familiarity with industrial robots, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and vision systems. Ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation is critical. Knowledge of EPSON and Universal Robots is considered an asset. Candidates must demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Safety consciousness and a proactive approach to continuous improvement are vital qualities for success in this role. Responsibilities Support and maintain robotic cells, automation equipment, vision systems, and controls infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime, reliability, and performance. Perform reactive troubleshooting of robotic, electrical, controls, and automation-related issues during production, escalating problems when necessary. Conduct preventive maintenance activities on robots, tooling, vision systems, sensors, PLCs, electrical panels, and related automation equipment, maintaining accurate records of all work performed. Assist in the assembly, integration, testing, commissioning, and deployment of new and existing automation systems. Perform robot reteaching, calibration, recovery procedures, and tooling adjustments to uphold process quality and equipment efficiency. Configure and optimize machine vision systems, including camera alignment, lighting adjustments, and inspection parameters. Collaborate with the Automation Engineering team to improve equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Troubleshoot electrical and controls systems, including PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, safety circuits, sensors, drives, and industrial communication networks. Manage spare parts inventory by identifying critical components, supporting procurement, and maintaining accurate inventory records. Maintain comprehensive equipment documentation, software backups, recovery procedures, and post-deployment support packages. Provide technical support to production teams, assisting with operational issues and equipment recovery as needed.
