YOUR ROLE The Carpenter/Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing carpentry work related primarily to the modification of shipping containers and maintenance of company facilities. Schedule Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. May vary based on operational needs. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Modify shipping containers. • Wood framing. • Install plywood, drywall, insulation and finishing materials. • General interior renovations and building repairs. • Safely operate power tools. • Maintain clean work area. • Follow all health and safety requirements, wear PPE, report hazards. • Perform other related duties. QUALIFICATIONS Education * Verbal and written fluency in French; * Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS/DEP) in Carpentry, Building Maintenance, Construction or related trade preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Experience • Minimum 2–3 years of carpentry, construction, interior renovation or building maintenance. • General knowledge of interior renovations is required. • Good knowledge of electric/power tools is required. • Experience with wood framing, plywood and drywall installation is required. • Shipping container modification experience is an asset. Licences & Certifications • Valid Class 5 driver's licence preferred. • WHMIS certification required. • Forklift, aerial lift and First Aid/CPR certifications are assets PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, climb ladders, work indoors/outdoors.
