Our client, located in Ottawa's West End, is experiencing exciting growth and is looking for a skilled Lighting Controls Technician (Building Automation Technician) to join their expanding team. Whether you're a recent graduate or an aspiring electronics professional eager to launch your career, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and grow with an industry leader. This is an exciting field-based role that involves working directly with clients on-site to install, troubleshoot, and commission lighting control systems and applications. The position is highly mobile, with the majority of your time spent visiting customer locations rather than working from an office. Our client primarily works on projects throughout the Ottawa-Gatineau region, where team members are typically home every evening. Occasional travel to Northern Quebec may be required a few times per year for project assignments lasting up to one week. Required skills and qualifications: Must be fluently bilingual (English / French) A diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Architectural Technician/Technologist or a related field or Building Automation System Operations certification Experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems, preferably in the HVAC, robotics, or lighting industries is ideal but not required Strong computer skills, including: network fundamentals, software applications, hardware components Ability to work effectively in both independent and team-based settings Eligibility to obtain a Secret level Security Clearance Duties may include but are limited to: Programming and commissioning lighting control panels Responding to service calls, performing system diagnostics, and troubleshooting issues Reviewing and interpreting plans and specifications for lighting control systems Developing and presenting lighting control system proposals to clients Managing maintenance contracts and ensuring timely delivery of services Performing other tasks as assigned to support the team and business operations Benefits and perks: Comprehensive health and dental benefits Pension matching program Monthly profit-sharing incentives Weekly perks: paid lunches every Friday and free snacks in the office Regular team-building activities to foster camaraderie Flexible scheduling to support work-life balance Opportunities for growth and advancement in a rapidly expanding organization Convenient free parking A dynamic and supportive work environment Contemporary and newly renovated office space Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:30pm (Fridays are 8:00am to 3:30pm) Salary: $60,000 to $75,000 per year depending on experience If you're a motivated and qualified candidate, please submit your resume in response to this posting.
