Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for an Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our team. As the successful candidate, you will support electrical engineering and design activities for industrial projects, including electrical, controls and instrumentation systems. You will work alongside experienced engineers and designers on a variety of projects from concept through construction and commissioning. A Day in the Life * Support electrical engineering and design for industrial plants and process projects; * Assist with power distribution, motor control centers, single line diagrams, equipment layouts, cable and conduit routing, grounding and lighting layouts; * Assist with instrumentation and controls design, including PLC/DCS systems, control panels and loop drawings; * Prepare electrical calculations, cable schedules, load lists and other engineering deliverables; * Assist with preparation and review of engineering drawings and documentation; * Review vendor drawings and technical documentation; * Coordinate with project managers, suppliers, clients and contractors; * Provide support during construction and commissioning; * Participate in site visits and project meetings as required. What You’ll Bring to the Team * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; * Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT); * 0–4 years of relevant electrical engineering experience; * Experience in an industrial, consulting, plant and/or construction environment is an asset; * Familiarity with AutoCAD, EasyPower and/or ETAP is an asset; * Knowledge of electrical power distribution, controls, PLC, DCS and HMI systems is an asset; * Understanding of applicable electrical codes and industry practices; * Strong problem-solving and technical skills; * Excellent communication and collaboration skills; * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
