The Opportunity Tetra Tech is adding an Intermediate or Senior Civil Technician/Technologist to our Western Canada Engineering team based in Terrace, BC . This position is based in Terrace, BC.; however, we welcome applications from qualified candidates outside the area and are prepared to offer relocation support for the successful candidate. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business. Your Role Working on municipal, commercial and industrial projects in both a field and laboratory environment. Construction supervision of civil, geotechnical and material engineering projects. Performing field and laboratory testing of soil, aggregates, and concrete including evaluation and reporting of properties and characteristics. Assisting in providing inspection, and quality control and assurance on a variety of projects. Assisting in preparation of field and testing reports. Construction survey for a variety of projects, including familiarity with drone technology. Manage projects from proposal through completion, including scope, budget, schedule, and quality. Assist with the preparations of engineering reports, designs, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and proposals. Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development initiatives. Collaborate with Tetra Tech’s multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes. Qualifications Graduated from a Civil Engineering Technology program. 7 years of experience minimum. Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License and must provide current drivers abstract. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients is a mandatory requirement. Excellent analytical, problem solving and listening skills. Good time management skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to contribute as a team player. Strong project management and client relationship experience. Experience with municipal infrastructure, land development, roads, drainage, and water/wastewater projects. Experience preparing proposals and supporting business development. Proficiency with Civil 3D and related design software is considered an asset. Experience working with First Nations, Indigenous communities, or rural municipalities is considered an asset. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Local to Northwest B.C. is preferred. Ability and willingness to travel as required to project sites in Northwest B.C.
