Working alongside a talented multidisciplinary team, you will lead structural engineering design efforts, influence project outcomes, and help deliver innovative solutions for some of the most important water and wastewater facilities in British Columbia. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your Impact * Design and analyze structural systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, and retaining structures. * Lead structural design packages using engineering software, hand calculations, and design standards to deliver complete structural systems. * Prepare markups in Bluebeam and coordinate with BIM teams to translate analytical work into models and drawings. * Conduct site inspections for new construction, structural condition assessments, and rehabilitation projects. * Provide construction support, including shop drawing reviews, RFIs, and change management. * Coordinate closely with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Architectural disciplines to integrate design solutions. * Mentor junior engineers through technical guidance, project exposure, and professional development. * Apply sound engineering judgement, ethics, and standard methodologies in complex project environments. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Skills That Set You Apart * Master's Degree in Structural Engineering, Seismic Engineering, or an equivalent discipline. * Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience, ideally focused on water and wastewater facilities, seismic design, and challenging geotechnical conditions in British Columbia. * Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation registered with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC). * Demonstrated experience preparing technical memoranda, reports, proposals, and client-facing documentation. * Strong knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards including BCBC 2024, NBCC, CSA A23.1/2, CSA A23.3, ACI 350, CSA S16, and CSA S900.2. * Proficiency using structural analysis and design software such as STAAD.Pro, S-FRAME, and CSI software suites, with working knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Revit. * Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project coordination and make complex technical decisions with minimal supervision. * Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for site visits and field inspections as required. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why Choose WSP? Requirements
Requires a Master's degree in Structural or Seismic Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Must hold a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with EGBC and possess strong knowledge of Canadian structural codes.
