Senior Backend Engineer *Location:* Markham, ON (Hybrid ? 2?3 days onsite) *Experience:* 7+ Years Required Skills * Strong backend development experience with *TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS* * Experience with *MongoDB Atlas*, schema design, JSON Schema validation, and Atlas CLI * Hands-on experience with *event-driven architectures* using *AWS MSK (Kafka)* and *Amazon EventBridge* * API-first development using *REST* and *AsyncAPI* * Authentication using *OAuth 2.0* and *OpenID Connect (OIDC)* * AWS services including *ECS, Lambda, MSK, EventBridge, and S3* * Strong knowledge of *Git*, branching strategies, pull requests, and *CI/CD* (GitHub Actions or similar) * Experience building production-ready applications with logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting * Proficient in using AI coding tools (e.g., *Claude Code*, *Cursor*) with the ability to review, validate, and improve AI-generated code * Strong communication and documentation skills with experience writing clear technical specifications Pay: $100,000.00-$140,000.00 per year Application question(s): * Do you have expreience in TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS A) Yes B) No * Have you used AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar in your development workflow?
