Desktop Support Technician – Office Move & Level II Support Location: Toronto & Mississauga, Ontario Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site Assignment Type: Contract Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Desktop Support Technician to assist with an office technology relocation and provide ongoing Level II desktop support. The successful candidate will initially work between our downtown Toronto offices at 483 Bay Street and 77 King Street, supporting the relocation and setup of end-user technology equipment. The assignment will then transition to our Mississauga location at 3 Robert Speck Parkway. This is a 100% on-site position involving a combination of desktop technical support and physical equipment setup and relocation. Candidates must be comfortable performing hands-on work, moving between floors and office locations, and participating in occasional after-hours and weekend activities. Key Responsibilities Set up and configure monitors, docking stations, peripherals, and other desktop equipment at employee workstations. Perform workstation cable management, including routing and organizing cables underneath desks. Disconnect, reconnect, test, and validate desktop technology following workstation moves. Assist with packing, moving, loading, unloading, and organizing IT equipment between the 483 Bay Street and 77 King Street Toronto locations. Verify that equipment is functioning correctly following installation or relocation. Troubleshoot hardware, peripheral, connectivity, and basic desktop issues. Provide Level II desktop support for day-to-day BAU incidents and service requests. Assist users with workstation, monitor, docking station, peripheral, and related desktop technology issues. Maintain organized equipment and work areas throughout the relocation. Escalate technical issues requiring additional support to the appropriate teams. Follow established IT procedures, security requirements, health and safety practices, and equipment-handling standards. Provide additional hands-on support during office moves, deployments, and other technology activities as required. Work Locations & Schedule The contractor will be required to work approximately: 2 weeks: 483 Bay Street / 77 King Street, Toronto 2 weeks: 3 Robert Speck Parkway, Mississauga Additional on-site support may be required based on business needs. There is no work-from-home or remote-work option for this assignment. Some relocation and deployment activities must be completed after regular business hours or on weekends. Candidates should be prepared to participate in these activities when required. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on desktop support assignment. Candidates must be comfortable with the physical requirements of the position, including: Working underneath desks to install equipment and perform cable management. Frequently walking between workstations, floors, and office areas. Moving between nearby office buildings as required. Bending, crouching, reaching, standing, and carrying equipment during workstation setups. Carrying, loading, and unloading IT equipment and boxes. Regularly handling items weighing approximately 15 lbs or less, with some equipment or boxes potentially exceeding 30 lbs. Candidates should be able to safely perform the essential physical duties of the role, with reasonable accommodation where applicable. Required Qualifications Previous experience providing Desktop Support, Deskside Support, or Level II IT Support. Experience installing and troubleshooting monitors, docking stations, laptops/desktops, keyboards, mice, and other peripherals. Strong understanding of workstation setup, hardware troubleshooting, and cable management. Experience supporting users in a corporate office environment. Ability to troubleshoot common Windows desktop, hardware, peripheral, and connectivity issues. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Ability to follow technical instructions and work independently as well as part of a larger deployment team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability and willingness to work 100% on-site at the required Toronto and Mississauga locations. Flexibility to participate in scheduled evening and weekend work when required.
