Sansom Equipment Limited SANSOM EQUIPMENT LIMITED has been a leading distributor and service provider for pumps, generators, blowers, valves, VFDs and packaged engineered systems for industrial and municipal applications across Eastern Canada since 1964. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Generator Technician to join our service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of diesel and natural gas-powered generator systems. This position requires a strong mechanical and electrical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on standby and prime power generator systems. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, fuel, cooling, and control system issues. Conduct load bank testing and generator performance evaluations. Install, commission, and start up new generator equipment. Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches (ATS) and associated control systems. Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate maintenance records. Respond to emergency service calls and provide after-hours support as required. Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and industry standards. Communicate effectively with customers regarding equipment condition, repair recommendations, and maintenance schedules. Maintain company vehicles, tools, and diagnostic equipment in good working order. Qualifications Journeyperson certification in Electrical, Industrial Mechanical (Millwright), Heavy Equipment, or a related trade, or equivalent industry experience. Experience servicing diesel and/or natural gas generators. Strong understanding of electrical systems, engines, and control circuits. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
