Black Dog Oilfield Services Ltd. is looking for an experienced Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Leduc. We're an independent, family-owned heavy-duty repair shop specializing in commercial truck, trailer and fleet maintenance and repair. We're looking for an experienced technician who takes pride in their work, can diagnose and repair equipment independently, and wants to be part of a smaller shop where their experience and contribution actually matter. This is primarily an in-shop position, with occasional service truck and field work. What We Offer $45.00–$55.00/hour, based on experience 4 x 10-hour shifts Day shift only: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM Three-day weekends every week Overtime opportunities available Extended health, dental and vision benefits Company RRSP matching program Annual boot allowance Tuition and training support Stable, year-round work Company service truck for field service work Company events Casual dress On-site parking Opportunities for advancement and leadership What You'll Be Doing Diagnose and repair commercial trucks and trailers Perform preventative maintenance and fleet repairs Diagnose and repair engines, driveline components, brakes, steering and suspension systems Perform electrical and electronic diagnostics Diagnose and repair diesel after-treatment systems Perform Truck, Trailer and School Bus CVIP inspections and required repairs Complete wheel-end, air brake and related heavy-duty repairs Accurately determine the nature and extent of repairs required Complete repair orders, inspection reports and required documentation Perform occasional field/service truck repairs Work independently while collaborating with other technicians and apprentices Assist and mentor apprentices when required Maintain a safe and professional work environment What We're Looking For Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification Strong commercial truck and trailer repair experience Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities Ability to work independently and efficiently Experience with electrical and after-treatment diagnostics Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence Clean driving record for insurance purposes Own basic hand tools Strong communication and teamwork skills Attention to detail and pride in workmanship Preferred CVIP Inspection Licence Class 1 Driver's Licence Strong fleet maintenance experience Experience mentoring apprentices or providing shop-floor leadership Broad experience across multiple truck and trailer makes and systems About Black Dog Black Dog Oilfield Services Ltd. is a locally owned and operated heavy-duty repair facility located in Leduc's business park. Requirements

Applicants must hold Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification and have strong commercial truck and trailer repair, diagnostic, and troubleshooting experience. A valid Class 5 driver's licence, clean driving record, basic hand tools, independence, communication skills, and attention to detail are required; CVIP inspection licensing and a Class 1 licence are preferred.
