The Role The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day maintenance of machines and mechanical systems to ensure safety and environmental compliance. Your Impact * Ability to detect, troubleshoot, and repair irregularities and malfunctions in production equipment. * Perform preventative maintenance tasks (inspections, lubrications, belt and filter changes) on various mechanical plant equipment in accordance with standardized procedures and manuals. * Inspects and examines machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions. Identifies source of problems by observing mechanical devises in operation, listening for problems; and/or using precision measuring and testing instruments. * Ability to recognize operational inconsistencies and hazards in the workplace and display proper judgment in responding accordingly. Performing machine inspections, working safely and following legislated safe work procedures is your bread and butter! * Performs routine preventive and corrective maintenance inspections and services on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines. * Conduct set up, take down and relocation of Process and Packaging equipment. * Assembles machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment. * Ensure cleanliness of Mechanical rooms, Electrical rooms, and other Facilities spaces, which may include removing old equipment and wiring. * Responsible for Lockout procedures. * Perform additional duties, as required, in adherence with Johnvince Foods’ GMP policies. About You * You have a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar role. * Good knowledge of shop tools (i.e. milling machines, lathes, grinders and drilling machines). * Prior diagnostic/troubleshooting and preventable maintenance experience. * Genuine passion for continuous learning and development. * Good communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. * You are comfortable with prolonged periods of standing and walking. Our role requires you to bend, stretch, push, pull, move and clean machinery and equipment. * You are comfortable with moving and lifting equipment and machinery up to 50 lbs.
