The Role: We’re looking for a motivated intermediate structural engineer ready to grow into greater project responsibility. You’ll contribute to design across all phases, develop your skills as Engineer of Record on appropriate projects, support project delivery, and collaborate closely with senior staff in a mentorship-rich environment. Responsibilities: **Design & Technical Development** Contribute to structural design across all project phases under senior guidance Develop Engineer of Record experience on smaller, well-supported projects Conduct site visits and assist with field review support Build proficiency in timber, steel, and concrete design with increasing independence **Project & Client Support** Support project delivery, including scope, schedule, and budget tracking Begin building client relationships with support from senior staff Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors under senior oversight **Team & Firm Contribution** Collaborate with and support junior engineers and BIM technicians Contribute positively to firm culture Participate in internal knowledge-sharing and mentorship as you grow Qualifications: ● P.Eng. registered in BC ● Experience with RFEM, S-Concrete, Sizer, ETABS, or similar ● 5–7 years of consulting structural engineering experience ● Strong written and verbal communication skills ● Proficient in timber, steel, and concrete design ● Seismic design experience an asset ● Familiar with BC Building Code, NBCC, and local permitting ● Use of Cadwork, Rhino, Revit, Grasshopper, and AI tools an asset ● Mass timber and/or project management experience an asset ● Strong preference for in-office or Revelstoke and would consider a blended schedule for the right candidate What We Offer: ● Competitive salary commensurate with experience ● Professional development support ● Extended health and dental benefits ● Mentorship from experienced principals ● Flexible hours and genuine work-life balance ● A collaborative, low-ego team culture ● Clear path for career advancement Life in Nelson: Nelson is consistently ranked among Canada's most liveable small cities.
