The Role: We’re looking for a senior structural engineer ready to lead complex projects and drive the technical direction of our firm. You’ll serve as Engineer of Record across a broad range of projects, provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team, manage key client relationships, and play an active role in shaping how we grow and practice as a company. Responsibilities: **Design & Technical Leadership** Act as Engineer of Record for projects across residential, commercial, institutional, and municipal sectors Lead structural design from concept through construction administration Guide technical direction on timber, steel, and concrete design, including seismic considerations Conduct site visits and field reviews **Project & Client Management** Manage scope, schedule, and budget on medium to large projects Build and maintain positive client relationships Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors throughout project delivery **Team & Firm Growth** Mentor junior engineers and BIM technicians Support business development and help shape firm culture and practice Contribute to internal standards, tools, and technical resources as the firm grows Qualifications: ● 8-10 years in consulting structural engineering ● P.Eng. registered in BC ● Proficient in timber, steel, and concrete design ● Experience with the BC Building Code, NBCC, and permitting ● Experience with Cadwork, Rhino, Revit, Python, Grasshopper, and AI tools is an asset ● Proficient in RFEM, S-Concrete, ETABS, or similar; able to guide others ● Able to manage client relationships and lead project teams ● Seismic design experience preferred ● Mass timber and/or business development experience an asset ● Strong preference for in-office or Revelstoke and would consider a blended schedule for the right candidate What We Offer: ● Salary based on experience - $100,000-$150,000 ● Professional development support ● Extended health and dental benefits ● Mentorship from experienced principals ● Flexible hours and work-life balance ● A collaborative, low-ego team culture ● Clear path for career development Life in Nelson: Nelson is consistently ranked among Canada's most liveable small cities. Requirements
