Key Responsibilities and Functions The Powerline Technician and Journeyman Electrician are responsible for preventative maintenance of all electrical components of light rail traction power and overhead contact systems (TPSS/OCS). * Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications for light rail traction power substations and overhead catenary systems. * Inspect and test electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with standards. * Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. * Work in a safe manner, maintain a safe and organized work area by observing all safety policies and procedures, applying safety training. * Work collaboratively with other team members (track maintainers, systems technicians, BSST Maintenance Technicians etc.) in meeting standards and regulations. * Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all required information. * Snow removal and “House Cleaning”. * On-call coverage for emergency response on a rotating basis. Required Skills and Qualifications * Have a 434A Powerline Technician Certification or 309A Journeyman Electrical certification * Would consider at least the 3rd year of an Apprenticeship Electrician program. Safety oriented. * A valid Class DZ Drivers License or ability to obtain one is required with clean record. * Ability to lift, push and pull up to 60 lbs. * Time Management. * Organizational skills. * Strong written and oral communication skills. * Snow removal * House cleaning * Working with other departments

Requires a 434A Powerline Technician or 309A Journeyman Electrical certification, or at least the 3rd year of an apprenticeship. A valid Class DZ Driver's License and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs are also required.
