KIT Recruitment is partnering with a well-established food manufacturer in Milton, Ontario to recruit an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join their Maintenance team. This is a hands-on opportunity for a seasoned mechanic with strong experience in fast-paced food manufacturing. You’ll be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment while supporting equipment reliability, production uptime, and continuous improvement. The position is currently based in Milton, ON and will relocate to a new facility in Woodstock, ON within approximately 18–24 months. Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – Details Wage: $40.00–$43.00/hour, based on experience Shift: Day shift, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM - Weekly overtime opportunities available On-Call: As required for urgent maintenance needs Location: Milton, ON, relocating to Woodstock, ON in approximately 18–24 months Benefits: Fully funded health, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, Health Care Spending Account and EAP RRSP: Company matching program Training and professional development opportunities Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – Responsibilities Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on food production and processing equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues. Respond to breakdowns and work with Production to minimize equipment downtime. Install, dismantle, assemble, modify, and repair machinery using drawings, diagrams, and manufacturer specifications. Maintain and repair motors, pumps, valves, conveyors, controls, packaging machinery, and other production equipment. Complete daily equipment setups and support disassembly/reassembly for sanitation requirements. Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend improvements to reliability, safety, and performance. Perform basic to intermediate fabrication and welding, including stainless-steel repairs and modifications. Document maintenance activities, repairs, equipment findings, and parts used. Support continuous improvement initiatives across Maintenance and Production. Follow all Health & Safety, Food Safety, GMP, HACCP/SQF, and quality requirements. Participate in on-call coverage when required. Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – Qualifications 5+ years of industrial maintenance mechanic experience within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment is required. Strong hands-on mechanical troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills. Experience maintaining industrial production and processing equipment. Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair experience required. Millwright or Electrician certification is an asset but is not required. Fabrication and welding experience; stainless-steel experience within food processing is a strong asset. Packaging equipment experience is considered an asset. Strong English communication skills. Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize maintenance requirements. Reliable, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. Ability to accommodate flexible finish times and participate in on-call coverage. Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. and work on ladders and at heights. Must be comfortable working in refrigerated, wet, noisy, hot, and humid food-processing environments. Must be comfortable with the position relocating from Milton to Woodstock within approximately 18–24 months.
