Role Description The Registered Veterinary Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Mississauga, ON, supporting emergency and specialty services. Day-to-day duties include providing high-quality nursing care for hospitalized and emergency patients, assisting veterinarians in examinations, procedures, and surgeries, and monitoring patients in critical care. The technician will perform and assist with diagnostic tests, prepare and administer medications, and manage anesthesia under veterinary supervision. Responsibilities also include educating clients on treatment plans and home care, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organized clinical environment. The role requires effective collaboration with veterinarians, fellow technicians, and support staff to deliver compassionate, efficient patient care. Qualifications Strong Animal Care and Pet Care skills, including safe handling, monitoring, and compassionate patient support. Proficiency in Veterinary Technology, such as diagnostic testing, sample collection, and use of medical equipment. Competence in Anesthesiology, including patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery under veterinary direction. Experience in Client Education, communicating clearly about diagnoses, treatments, medications, and home care instructions. Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) designation in Ontario, or eligibility for registration. Previous experience in emergency, critical care, or specialty veterinary practice is an asset. Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced clinical setting. Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required for 24/7 operations.
