Lambton Conveyor Limited is a leading manufacturer of grain handling and storage equipment. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technologist at our Wallaceburg, Ontario location. The successful candidate will provide manufacturing support through the application of engineering principles to enhance productivity, efficiency, and product quality. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Lead Product Engineer, the Mechanical Engineering Technologist will collaborate with all levels within the organization to support design and production initiatives. Responsibilities for this position include: Create, edit and maintain CNC programs for punch presses, plasma and laser cutting machines Design, fabricate and implement customized tooling such as dies, fixtures, work supports, etc. Maintain/enhance engineering designs of mature product Support production improvements and equipment upgrades Develop manufacturing aides, standard operating procedures, and product routing sheets Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel Facilitate problem-solving activities Assist in product prototyping, process development and new product design as required Implement corrective/preventive actions to support continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications: College diploma in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or equivalent 3-5 years technical experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD software or equivalent Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exceptional team building and conflict resolution abilities Skilled in problem solving and lean manufacturing concepts Strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to work hands on Experience in tool and die design, PLC programming, and SigmaNest software are assets

Requirements

Requires a college diploma in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent, and 3–5 years of technical experience in sheet metal manufacturing. Candidates should have Microsoft Office proficiency, working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or equivalent, strong communication and problem-solving abilities, lean manufacturing knowledge, and a hands-on mechanical aptitude; tool and die design, PLC programming, and SigmaNest experience are assets.
