Job summary

Role Summary The Field Installation & Systems Technician is responsible for the installation, deployment, provisioning, testing, and quality assurance of Latium’s mobile security trailers, towers, cameras, sensors and related systems. The primary focus of this role is supporting field installations, deployments, service work, and commissioning. When not required in the field, the technician will support equipment provisioning, trailer QA, system testing and deployment preparation. This position may also assist with trailer building and assembly when additional shop support is required. The role requires a hands-on individual with strong technical and mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, troubleshooting ability, and flexibility to travel to job sites as required. Key Responsibilities Field Installation & Deployment ● Complete on-site installations, deployments, and commissioning of mobile security trailers, towers, cameras, sensors, and related equipment. ● Set up and verify power, networking, connectivity, cameras, sensors, and other system components. ● Work with project coordinators and internal teams to ensure installations are completed according to site requirements. ● Complete troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and service calls at customer sites. ● Verify equipment is fully operational before leaving the site. ● Complete required installation and service documentation. ● Communicate installation progress, issues, and required follow-up to the appropriate internal teams. Provisioning & Configuration ● Provision and configure cameras, sensors and other devices prior to deployment. ● Confirm equipment is correctly assigned, labelled, configured, and ready for installation. ● Verify connectivity and communication between devices and associated systems. ● Troubleshoot provisioning or configuration issues prior to equipment leaving the shop. ● Maintain accurate provisioning records and documentation. Trailer QA & Testing ● Complete final QA and operational testing of security trailers and towers following assembly. ● Test power systems, batteries, solar systems, cameras, sensors, networking equipment, connectivity, and other installed components. ● Confirm equipment and systems meet company standards before deployment. ● Identify and correct deficiencies before units are released for field use. ● Complete QA documentation, checklists, serial number records, and testing records. ● Ensure trailers are properly prepared and equipped for upcoming deployments. Trailer Build Support ● Assist with trailer assembly and builds when additional shop capacity is required. ● Install or replace cameras, power components, wiring, and related hardware. ● Support troubleshooting and correction of build deficiencies. ● Assist the trailer build team during periods of increased production demand. Logistics & Transport ● Safely operate company vehicles and tow mobile security trailers to and from job sites. ● Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and movement of equipment. ● Ensure trailers and equipment are properly secured for transportation. ● Perform basic pre-trip checks and report vehicle or trailer concerns. ● Operate forklifts, telehandlers, or other equipment where trained and authorized. Key Deliverables ● Safe and successful completion of field installations and deployments. ● Properly provisioned and configured equipment. ● Fully tested and deployment-ready trailers and systems. ● Accurate installation, provisioning, QA, and service documentation. ● Timely identification and resolution of technical issues. ● Reliable support for field service and operational requirements. Qualifications & Requirements ● Valid driver’s licence with the ability and confidence to tow trailers. ● Experience in field installation, mechanical assembly, electrical work, telecommunications, security systems, networking, or another hands-on technical role. ● Comfortable using hand and power tools. ● Basic understanding of low-voltage wiring, electrical systems, networking, or communications equipment is an asset. ● Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability. ● Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment as required. ● Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. ● Willingness to travel and attend job sites on short notice when required. ● Flexibility to support occasional after-hours or weekend field work as operationally required.
