The Opportunity Leavitt Machinery is looking for a mechanically skilled Field Technician (Heavy Equipment) to join our Service team in Edmonton, Alberta. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to a variety of machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities As a Field Technician your key responsibilities will include: Diagnosing, repairing, and completing routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery Maintaining effective and consistent communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing Service jobs, and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner Discussing Service job details with customers and communicating a clear understanding of the job scope and repair requirements Communicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered, and preparing required parts before visiting job sites Maintaining proper documentation where needed, including work order forms and warranty paperwork Reporting any safety incidents promptly and adhering to all safety policies Required Skills & Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies: At least 3 years of heavy equipment experience in a related industry Provincial Heavy Duty or Automotive Journeyperson’s ticket or a Relevant Red Seal Trade Certification is required Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience is highly preferred Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts Strong work ethic and a positive attitude High school diploma Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites in the region is required Benefits & Perks Leavitt Machinery is proud to offer competitive compensation and flexible benefits coverage for all eligible employees, including an employer matching RRSP plan: Company paid medical health care plan for you and your dependents Dental plan, vision plan, and prescription drug coverage Annual health care spending account Life insurance, short term disability, and travel insurance Sick leave plan – 100% employer paid Employee assistance programs RRSP matching Ongoing professional development opportunities The approximate base pay range for this role is: $51.00 to $64.11 per hour, depending on experience.
