The Fuel/Lube Technician is a critical position at MacKay. This role ensures our equipment and job sites are fueled, serviced, clean, and ready to perform — day in and day out. Your work directly supports our operators, maintenance team, and project crews, helping keep projects on schedule, improving safety, and reinforcing the high standard of quality MacKay is known for. We are currently recruiting this position with an estimated project start date of mid-September 2026. What You’ll Do Clean mobile equipment safely and efficiently in preparation for maintenance Fuel, lube, and grease field equipment and heavy machinery Perform basic servicing such as oil changes and filter replacements Lubricate running gears, moving parts, booms, pulleys, buckets, and other components Provide on-site fueling and service support to active job sites Maintain accurate service and equipment records Work closely with the Maintenance team to support fleet readiness Complete and submit daily timecards Pitch in with other duties as needed — teamwork matters here What You Bring Previous experience in a laborer or similar hands-on role Experience in a maintenance, welding, or mechanical environment is an asset Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions by radio, verbal instruction, or hand signals Ability to stay alert, work safely around others, and adapt to changing site conditions Valid class 3 driver’s license with a clean Driver’s Abstract TDG certification required Air Brakes endorsement is an asset First Aid and/or Mine Rescue training is an asset Grade 12 completion The Right Fit Looks Like This Physically fit and comfortable performing manual labor (lifting up to 50 lbs. / 23 kg) Detail-oriented and safety-focused — shortcuts aren’t your thing Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently Calm under pressure and professional in challenging situations Eager to learn, quick to adapt, and open to best practices Takes pride in doing the job right and supporting the crew What’s In It for You This role is based out of Sparwood, B.C., working a 7 x 7 shift rotation. Shifts typically run 12 hours, with overtime after 8 hours. Benefits after 30 days of employment. $200/day LOA.
