INTERMEDIATE ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST SUMMARY The role of an Intermediate Architectural Technologist is to bridge technical expertise with project coordination responsibilities. Positioned between junior technologists and senior leadership, Intermediate Technologists contribute significantly to the design and construction phases of projects. They play a pivotal role in translating architectural concepts into detailed drawings, specifications, and construction documents using Revit. Their responsibilities often include conducting building code reviews, ensuring compliance with regulations, and integrating sustainable design principles into project documentation. Intermediate Architectural Technologists collaborate closely with Architects and Project Leads, providing valuable insights into building systems, materials, and construction methodologies. They contribute to project coordination efforts, managing timelines, budgets, and client communications effectively. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a team, making significant contributions to the successful execution of architectural projects from inception to completion. POSITION OVERVIEW * Translate design concepts into detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents. * Work on building sections, elevations, and details that accurately represent the design intent and construction requirements. * Assist in developing specifications for materials and construction methods. * Conduct building code reviews and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. * Assist in the preparation of permit applications and submissions to relevant authorities. * Stay updated on building regulations and ensure that all project documentation reflects current standards and legal requirements. * Maintain and update project models and technical libraries within BIM systems, ensuring all project stakeholders have access to the latest design information. * Support project coordination efforts, managing timelines and budgets effectively. * Coordinate technical information with Consultants, Contractors, and Stakeholders. * Resolve technical issues and challenges during project execution. * Maintain organized project files and documentation per company standards. * Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to achieve project objectives. * Continuously develop skills and knowledge in architectural technology and industry practices. CHARACTERISTICS & SKILLS * 5+ years of architectural production experience. * Proficiency in Revit for drafting and design tasks. * Strong ability to translate design concepts into detailed architectural drawings and construction documents. * Knowledge and experience in conducting building code reviews and ensuring compliance with regulations. * Skills in project coordination, including managing timelines and budgets. * Capacity to coordinate technical information with consultants, contractors, and other parties. * Problem-solving skills to address technical issues and challenges throughout project execution. * Organizational skills to maintain organized project files and documentation. * Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and stakeholders. * Commitment to continuous learning and development in architectural technology and industry practices. * Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Detailed knowledge of land use bylaws for municipalities in Alberta
