Only candidates who live in Metro Vancouver will be considered for this position. As a Junior CAD Technician, You Will Create, modify, and update 2D drawings and 3D CAD models based on customer and production requirements. Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, materials, and finishes. Assist with sheet-metal design and develop drawings for laser cutting, punching, bending, and fabrication. Review drawings and CAD files for accuracy and identify potential design or manufacturing issues. Make drawing revisions based on feedback from customers, engineers, and production teams. Prepare and maintain CAD files, drawings, and revision records in an organized manner. Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable. Assist senior designers and engineers with ongoing projects and design updates. Support the preparation of production documentation and CNC-related files when required. Follow company quality procedures, ISO requirements, and document-control practices. Learn and apply company standards, manufacturing processes, and CAD procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Diploma or certificate in CAD, Drafting, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field. Basic experience with 2D and 3D CAD software. Ability to read and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings. Basic understanding of dimensions, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of sheet-metal fabrication processes such as laser cutting, punching, bending, and welding is an asset. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with engineering and production teams. Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills. Basic computer skills and ability to maintain organized electronic files and documentation. Legally entitled to work in Canada.
