The Opportunity - Overhead Crane Technician (Journeyperson Electrician) MM Limited Partnership (MML), a Mikisew Group company, is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Overhead Crane Technician to join our operation at Syncrude Canada Site. MML provides comprehensive Client services in facility maintenance, road and grounds, projects, winterization services and industrial refrigeration services. Purpose & Key Accountabilities The Technician will focus on the daily operations of crane inspections, repairs, installation and preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment is in regulatory safety compliance. Responsibilities will include the following: Perform crane inspections, repairs, installations and respond to breakdowns Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Inspect hoists, cranes, systems, chain falls and pullers Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to determine extent of repairs required Test each crane repair for complete functionality. Troubleshoot industrial control systems and devices, interpret electrical schematics and code specification. Maintains and track assigned company tools. Maintain the assigned company truck and submit timely truck inspection reports and drivers logs as required. Complete Incident Reports and FLRA’s as required. Qualifications Education & Experience Red Seal Electrician with strong industrial electrical experience Strong electrical trouble-shooting skills Strong hydraulic and mechanical skills A valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract This position requires working at heights, standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, balancing, kneeling and crawling Overhead Crane Experience Min Of 6,000 Hours Experience VFD Trouble Shooting Experience A Plus Trouble Shooting Of Control Circuits Experience Overhead Crane Training. Rigging, Manlift, Harness Training Experience. Mechanically Inclined Experience with Stahl, Kone, P&H, Demag, Kito, Yale, CM Hoists. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients as well as internally with operational personnel. Competent understanding of Company/Client procedures. Proven ability to multi-task and efficiently respond to changing priorities. Superior organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines. Decision-making and problem-solving ability.
