Visit us today and check out www.novascotia.com to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the Opportunity Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Maintenance and Operations, the Industrial Mechanic/Millwright participates in activities related to the maintenance and operation of the physical plant and associated services within the facility by performing duties including, but not limited to: - assisting in the orientation and instruction of other staff;- keeping appropriate records, statistics, progress notes, inventories and other related data;- participating in a preventative maintenance program;- keeping the Assistant Manager informed of department activities, needs and problems and fixing problems themselves as is possible and appropriate;- requisitioning and replenishing supplies;- keeping equipment clean and in good working order;- reporting any malfunctioning equipment;- carrying out maintenance tasks related to all welding, sheet metal and air balancing, as well as related general repairs to same;- maintaining quality standards of workmanship on all projects;- carrying out all aspects of maintenance, installation and repairs of metal work in structures and equipment;- maintaining the grounds, including snow removal;- assisting fellow maintenance workers as is possible and appropriate;- carries out all aspects of maintenance installation and repairs requiring welding;- performs repairs on all types of machinery;- rebuilds pumps Participates in the direct management of the service by performing duties including, but not limited to: - orientating and instructing other maintenance personnel;- requisitioning supplies and equipment for use in the program;- keeping adequate records and preparing and submitting reports as required;- taking emergency calls.About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following: Provincial Industrial Mechanic/Millwright Certification Minimum of three (3) years' experience as an Industrial Mechanic or Millwright. Ability to withstand the physical nature of the job, including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing involving heights, and the lifting and moving of heavy and awkward objects. Ability to operate various motor vehicles, machinery, tools and equipment related to the work environment.
