Position Overview/Description We are seeking an intermediate Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our growing team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this full‑time, on‑site role provides a broad mix of product design, production support, project leadership, and customer engagement. This is a hands‑on technical role ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, designing practical solutions for internal and external customers, and contributing to both product and process improvements across the organization. Key Responsibilities · Prepare CAD drawings for new fiberglass profile designs. · Develop material take‑offs, generate costing estimates and support the quoting process. · Coordinate tooling design with toolmakers and maintain tooling schedules. · Interact with customers to create custom profile concepts and solutions. · Work with the engineering and sales team to deliver product technical assistance including engineering documentation, improvement actions and lifecycle support. · Provide production support including quality documentation, inspection, analysis and troubleshooting. · Lead/contribute to Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement activities. · Contribute expertise toward projects involving tooling maintenance, machine upgrades and production workflow development. · Coordinate product and process R&D activities to support company growth. · Work closely with the Engineering Manager across all technical service activities. Qualifications · 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment. · Strong analytical and hands‑on problem solving skills. · Ability to work independently while supporting cross‑functional teams. · Experience managing technical projects. · Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D (3D parametric modeling is an asset). · Strong communication and customer service abilities. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. · Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma, or Mechanical Engineering degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Assets · Certification with CTTAM is considered an asset. · Ability to interact with team members and customers at all organizational levels. · Although not essential, as on-the-job product and process training will be provided, knowledge of plastics, composites, or the fenestration industry is beneficial. · Experience with Lean/CI methodologies and in-plant quality control. · Exposure to machine design, production and/or fabrication environments.
