The Forestry Technician monitors and assesses the health of urban forestry assets while overseeing contractor performance and contract lifecycle activities. They also serve as a primary point of contact for service requests and utilize specialized scientific equipment to collect and analyze technical data.

The technician is responsible for patrolling city roads to identify, document, and report defects or hazardous conditions to ensure public safety. They also provide leadership in winter and summer maintenance programs and oversee contracted and unionized staff during emergency road work.
