As we continue to expand our services and operating hours, we are currently seeking an MRI Technologist to join our dynamic, professional, and patient-focused team. Position Summary The MRI Technologist will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging examinations while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and support throughout the imaging process. The ideal candidate will demonstrate autonomy, attention to detail, and strong clinical judgment. They will work closely with our technologists, administrative team, radiologists, and management to ensure a safe, efficient, and seamless patient experience. Key Responsibilities Welcome patients and clearly explain the MRI examination process. Perform MRI safety screening and ensure that all potential contraindications are appropriately assessed prior to the examination. Review medical requisitions and confirm that the scheduled examination is appropriate for the clinical indication. Perform MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols and applicable professional standards. Position patients appropriately and select the proper coils and imaging sequences. Adjust sequences and imaging parameters when necessary to achieve optimal diagnostic image quality. Administer contrast agents when required, in accordance with clinic policies and procedures. Recognize situations requiring further review or consultation with management or a radiologist. Provide appropriate patient monitoring throughout the examination. Support patients experiencing pain, anxiety, or claustrophobia with professionalism, reassurance, and compassion. Review image quality before discharging the patient and obtain additional sequences when necessary. Ensure appropriate transmission and documentation of examinations within RIS/PACS systems. Participate in quality assurance, equipment quality control, and MRI safety activities. Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment in accordance with applicable standards. Collaborate with other team members to optimize scheduling and daily workflow. Participate in the continuous improvement of clinic protocols, processes, and quality standards. Qualifications Recognized diploma in medical imaging technology, radiologic technology, or equivalent education allowing the candidate to practise as an MRI technologist in Quebec. Member in good standing with the Ordre des technologues en imagerie médicale, en radio-oncologie et en électrophysiologie médicale du Québec (OTIMROEPMQ). Previous MRI experience is strongly preferred. Excellent knowledge of MRI safety principles. Strong understanding of anatomy and imaging protocols. Ability to work independently and make safe clinical decisions. Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to patient service. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. Bilingualism in French and English is required. Candidates who are registered and in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) are also encouraged to apply. Depending on operational needs, the position may involve working at both of our Gatineau locations. Schedule We are open to discussing different scheduling arrangements based on the candidate’s availability and experience.
