We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) specializing in Product Development and Engineering to join our dynamic team. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who wants ownership over their work, not just a task list. You'll be developing new products, refining existing ones, and mentoring our Engineer-in-Training, all while working closely with ownership in a small company where decisions happen fast and your input actually shapes the outcome. Responsibilities Lead development of new products and continuous improvement of existing product lines in accordance with applicable standards and practices Mentor and supervise one (1) Engineer-in-Training, supporting their path toward licensure Create and maintain CAD models for all products and components Design and build prototypes and test rigs; run and monitor product testing, including FEA and physical load testing Collaborate with contractors as required to fill gaps in knowledge bases and support project delivery Ensure organization and accuracy of drawing files, BOMs, installation guides, and technical documentation Support proposal documents and site plans for private customer and public projects Create product and site installation renderings as required Support internal continuous improvement projects as required Take on other responsibilities as priorities shift; this is a growing company, and the role will evolve to meet changing needs Required Qualifications Licensed P.Eng. (or eligible for licensure with Engineers Nova Scotia) Strong CAD and mechanical design skills; experience with Solidworks required Comfortable owning a project from concept through testing to documentation A mentoring mindset, genuinely invested in developing the EIT, not just supervising on paper A team-first attitude: someone who pitches in where needed and doesn't clock-watch when something needs to get done Comfortable in a small-company environment: wearing multiple hats, working directly with ownership, and adapting as priorities shift Preferred Qualifications Interest in fitness and exercise is an asset Experience in 3D rendering & Solidworks Visualizer Pro is an asset We're a tight-knit, growing team, and the work doesn't always follow a predictable rhythm. Some stretches are heads-down design; others need someone to step up for a proposal time crunch or a product issue. We're looking for someone who meets the moment, whatever that looks like.
