AV Technician II

We are looking for 3-5 year of experience Technician lI - AV to lead large commercial AV installation projects. The successful candidate will have previous experience working with AV systems such as the following but not limited to; Crestron, BiAmp, Cisco and Extron. Responsibilities: Support, lead, and mentor team members Install and service cabling infrastructure and audio / visual devices; includes pre-wiring, installation, termination, testing, reporting, and labelling per specifications / drawings Install audio / visual equipment, including: audio and video conferencing equipment, distributed audio, digital signage, sound reinforcement, control systems, public announcement systems and all presentation systems Interact with customers and prospects, ensuring all inquiries are handled professionally Ensure that safety and incident reporting procedures are followed Complete detailed and accurate paperwork Support, lead, and mentor team members. Design systems and layout Maintain a high level of safety and professionalism Lead projects at a site level, manage a team of junior technicians as necessary. Other duties as required Required Qualifications: Ability to read and interpret AV functional and construction drawings Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail Flexibility to work in a variety of environments, from construction sites to finished corporate offices 3 - 5 years’ experience installing AV Systems preferred but experience from an electrical, mechanical and/or construction environment will be considered Comfortable working at heights Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Proficiency in the use of relevant tools and equipment Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract Must be able to pass a background check Able to work at a minimum with no supervision Willing to start CTS Certification program within three months of employment Willing to work one on-call shift per month Preferred Qualifications: Certification with Crestron, QSC, CTS, Extron and BiAmp would be considered an asset Post-secondary education in electronics, electrical, telecommunications, or equivalent would be an asset Salary Range: $26.68 - $35.84 DOE Vacancy Status: This posting is for a current and existing vacancy Physical Demands: In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet) Working Conditions: In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, may be required to travel to and from job site locations, may work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Confined space entry may be required. High work may be required.

The AV Technician II will lead large commercial AV installation projects, install and service cabling infrastructure and audio/visual devices, and mentor team members. They will also interact with customers, ensuring inquiries are handled professionally and maintain safety and incident reporting procedures.

Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience with AV systems and the ability to read and interpret AV functional and construction drawings. Strong troubleshooting skills, a valid driver's license, and the willingness to start a CTS Certification program within three months are also required.
