Job summary
The Respiratory Technician (also referred to as a Respirologist Technician or Pulmonary Function Technologist) is responsible for performing pulmonary function testing to support the assessment of respiratory health in patients attending the Pain Care Clinic. Working under the supervision of the Respirologist, the technician ensures accurate testing, patient safety, and high-quality data collection to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct pulmonary function tests including: * Spirometry * DLCO (Diffusing Capacity of the Lung for Carbon Monoxide) * Plethysmography * Prepare and educate patients on procedures to ensure comfort, safety, and understanding. * Operate, calibrate, and maintain all pulmonary function testing equipment. * Record, organize, and transmit test results accurately for interpretation by the supervising Respirologist. * Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols in compliance with clinic standards and regulatory guidelines. * Maintain testing logs, equipment maintenance records, and inventory of supplies. * Provide exceptional patient service and contribute to a calm, professional, and caring environment. * Collaborate with the clinic team to support smooth patient flow and operational efficiency. Qualifications: * Completion of a recognized Respiratory Therapy, Pulmonary Function Technology, or related health sciences program. * Certification or eligibility for credentialing (if required by jurisdiction). * Experience with spirometry, DLCO, and plethysmography testing preferred. * Strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and accuracy in data collection. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach. Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements
