Role Description This full-time, on-site Laboratory Technician role is based in Canada and supports pharmacy operations by performing routine laboratory tasks under established protocols. The Laboratory Technician prepares, labels, and organizes samples, compounds, and solutions in accordance with safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, documenting procedures and results accurately, and assisting with quality control checks on prepared products. The role also involves monitoring inventory of laboratory supplies, following infection control and safety procedures, and collaborating with pharmacists and other team members to ensure efficient workflow. The Laboratory Technician contributes to a safe, clean, and compliant laboratory environment while supporting high-quality patient and customer care. Qualifications Strong laboratory skills, including sample preparation, handling, and basic testing procedures. Ability to safely operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments. Experience with quality control processes and adherence to regulatory and safety standards. Well-developed analytical skills for interpreting results and identifying discrepancies. Background or training as a laboratory technician, or relevant experience in a clinical or pharmacy setting. Knowledge of good laboratory practices (GLP) and applicable health and safety regulations. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and accurate record-keeping abilities. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Completion of a college diploma or certificate in laboratory technology, medical laboratory assisting, or a related field is an asset. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
