Strong troubleshooting ability and technical decision-making are essential for success in this role. We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Maintenance Technician with strong technical depth in one or more specialized trades (plumbing, electrical, flooring, boilers, or mechanical systems). This role is critical to ensuring high-quality repairs, preventative maintenance, and an exceptional tenant experience. This is a customer-facing role with regular tenant interaction. We’re looking for someone who brings both technical expertise and a friendly, patient, and helpful approach - someone who listens to concerns, communicates clearly, and treats tenants and their homes with care and respect. Hourly Pay Range: $25.00- $29.00. What you’re great at * Completing repairs right the first time, with zero callbacks due to workmanship. * Executing preventative maintenance proactively and on schedule. * Building positive relationships with tenants through friendly, clear, and respectful communication. * Listening patiently to tenant concerns and handling difficult interactions calmly and professionally. * Diagnosing maintenance issues efficiently and resolving them cost-effectively. * Keeping properties well-maintained, safe, and visually appealing. * Collaborating effectively with internal teams and external vendors. What you’ll be doing * Perform complex troubleshooting and diagnostics for building maintenance issues. * Provide friendly, respectful service to tenants, listen to their concerns, and explain repairs and timelines clearly. * Execute preventative and corrective maintenance for residential properties. * Conduct regular unit and property inspections. * Perform light carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and general repairs. * Assist with building mechanical system checks and servicing. * Coordinate and oversee contractors and vendors on-site. * Maintain detailed maintenance records and reports. * Support unit turnovers, inspections, and move coordination. * Participate in after-hours or weekend emergency response as required. * Work collaboratively with the Site Manager and Head Office teams. What we’re looking for * Experience performing maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting, with preference for plumbing and boiler maintenance. * Customer service experience in a customer-facing role, ideally working directly with tenants or residents. * Grade 12 diploma required; trade training or certification is an asset. * Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently. * Strong work ethic with attention to quality and safety. * Comfortable working in varied weather and site conditions. * Valid driver’s license. * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. * WHMIS knowledge is an asset.
