Fiber Splicing Technician RFNOW Inc. is seeking applications from motivated individuals to join our team as a Fiber Splicing Technician. The successful candidates will be involved in our day-to-day operations including the preparation and installation of fibre internet infrastructure maintaining, repairing, connecting separate fiber runs. Role & Responsibilities: * Splice and test fiber optic cables in all inside/outside plant applications – buried and underground; both on newly placed cable and existing cables * Analyze test results and have the ability to troubleshoot and correct any faults or defects * Interpret and understand placing and splicing work plans * This position requires that the individual be motivated and self-disciplined, able to work on their own or closely with other team members to optimize efficiency to ensure that the client’s due date(s) are met Expertise & Requirements: * Experience as a Fiber Optic Splicer is an asset but will train right candidate * Ability to interpret placing and splicing plans * Competency in OTDR and other testing protocol an asset * Must have a valid Drivers’ License - will require drivers abstract * Ability to travel to various work sites as workload dictates * Overtime required in applicable situations in order to meet customer delivery commitments; this could include some night and weekend work * Work in all weather conditions This role will give you the opportunity to work out of your home community.
