RWDI is seeking a Wind Tunnel Test Technician (Operator) to join the Wind Tunnel Group in Guelph, Ontario. This is a full-time permanent position, requiring rotating day, afternoon, and night shifts. The Wind Tunnel Test Technician is responsible for setting up and executing experiments adhering to the prescribed test program and quality standards. This is an exciting opportunity to work on testing physical models of some of the world's most innovative buildings and infrastructure projects in RWDI's internationally recognized wind tunnel facilities. Key Responsibilities The role includes but is not limited to: Work as part of a team to set up and execute wind tunnel testing projects Assemble, install, and secure test models, sensors, and equipment Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and effectively Operate computer systems to support testing and data collection Inspect test setups and results to ensure quality and accuracy Identify and resolve setup issues to keep projects moving efficiently Follow established safety procedures and operating standards Maintain equipment and workspaces in a clean and organized condition Communicate effectively with technical and operations team members Help deliver projects on time while maintaining high quality standards Please note, this is a week day position (Monday - Friday), on a 2 week rotation of day, afternoon and night shifts. (Shift premiums available). Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Candidates need to also have the following qualifications: Hands-on skills relating to carpentry or physical assembly of components, including the use of various hand and power tools Technologically inclined and competent using windows-based programs Excellent attention to detail in both physical and computer environments Logical thinker with good judgement and decision-making abilities Ability to work with commitment and accuracy under pressure to successfully meet deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities Ability to lift 50lbs Self-starter and able to work independently and as part of a team Post-Secondary education in Instrumentation Technology is considered an asset Candidates from the machine operation, construction, automotive, trades, and technical production environments are encouraged to apply. The Senior Wind Tunnel Operator is responsible for the physical assembly of test models and sensors, as well as configuring data acquisition software. They must ensure all test setups and acquired data adhere to strict quality control standards while maintaining safe equipment operation.

Candidates should possess hands-on skills in carpentry or component assembly and be proficient with Windows-based software. A background in Instrumentation Technology is considered an asset, along with the ability to lift 50lbs and work rotating shifts.
