Job Summary We are seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Woodbridge, Ontario. In this role, you will contribute to the design, analysis, and delivery of complex heavy industrial projects and supporting project execution from concept through construction. We specialize in the design of facilities within the cement, lime, mining, and pulp and paper industries, serving clients throughout Canada and the United States. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced structural engineer to take on increased technical responsibility, work directly with clients, and further develop leadership and project management skills within a multidisciplinary engineering environment. Responsibilities: As an Intermediate Engineer, you will: Lead and review the preparation of structural engineering deliverables, including calculations, reports, specifications, drawings, and 3D models. Perform structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, masonry, and foundation systems in industrial and commercial applications. Utilize engineering software such as RISA, SAP2000, Revit, and Bluebeam to develop and review project designs. Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and designers, supporting their professional development. Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure efficient project execution and delivery. Participate in project planning, scheduling, quality assurance, and quality control activities. Communicate directly with clients regarding project requirements, technical solutions, document coordination, and project schedules. Support site inspections, field reviews, and construction-related activities as required. Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, you will have: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution is required; a Master's degree is a plus. A minimum of 4 years of relevant structural engineering experience, preferably within heavy industrial sectors such as mining, cement, lime, or pulp and paper. Demonstrated experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete design. Proficiency with structural analysis and design software, including SAP2000, RISA, or equivalent programs. Working knowledge of North American steel and concrete design codes and standards. Experience supporting project management activities, including scheduling, QA/QC processes, and client coordination. Technical experience that is highly desirable: Reinforced and post-tensioned concrete structures Reinforced masonry systems Structural steel and composite steel construction Shallow, deep, and raft foundations Concrete, masonry, and wood shear wall systems Braced frame and moment-resisting steel frame systems Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Proven ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively within a collaborative team environment. Professional Requirements Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and in good standing with the applicable regulatory body. Commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions and exceptional client service. Occasional travel (approx. 5%) within Canada Ability to travel to the US, a bonus.
