Something went wrong. We are currently seeking a full-time experienced millwright and maintenance mechanic to join our team. Schwartz is experiencing growth across all areas of our business. Key Details Industry: chemicals and packaging Equipment: mixing and blending tanks, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, conveyors, and packaging equipment Shift: 1st shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm Location: Pickering Rate: 36-40/hr Overtime: occasionally Benefits: Group medical & dental, 4% RRSP contribution Minimum experience: 3-5 years Union: Teamsters Local 1979 Responsibilities: Repair, overhaul and replace defective machinery parts; production machines, conveyors, fillers, tube fillers, packaging equipment, mixers, DC controls. Plant supporting systems, as well as infrastructure. Provide machine set ups, provide technical guidance to operators, document and author maintenance records and procedures. Ensure all machines and equipment are in safe working condition. Follow health and safety regulations in all steps, and especially in the lockout / tagout of equipment. Ongoing preventative maintenance and continuous improvement. Establish relationship with vendors, maybe be required to requisition parts, materials and coordinate vendor support. Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions Installing machinery and equipment. Perform routine maintenance work on machinery. Qualifications: Successful candidates will have the skills and experience required to work safely and independently or with others. Must be a team player and work well with other employees. Strong troubleshooting skills with an innovative approach to solving mechanical problems. Very strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge. Ability to design, fabricate, and weld machine components. Eager to learn and to train others. Must be self motivated, with basic computer skills such as email and word document (Microsoft Suite).
