Job summary
Afternoon Shift [3:30pm - 12am] Summary Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role supports the uptime of production lines through preventative maintenance tasks and troubleshooting. Responsibilities: Repair and maintain mechanical aspects of site equipment Troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain various types of mechanical equipment, including motors, pumps, valves, controls, conveyors etc. Assemble machinery and equipment in accordance with the installation instructions set forth in vendor manuals and specifications. Ensure that mechanical equipment is operating in a safe and efficient manner. Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, diagrams, blueprints and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Tend to emergency equipment breakdowns when called on, and service mechanical needs in an efficient and timely fashion. Assist contractors with troubleshooting and repairing compressed air machines, hot/cold water, and building drains Manage time with multiple work orders a day, accurately updating FiXX when complete and/or working with the MRO Purchaser to order parts/supplies required. Assemble equipment through machine shop methods that include welding, fastening, riveting etc. Align machines and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks Establishing centerline, calibrating, and balancing general equipment Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and ensure transfer of knowledge Qualifications: Must have a valid 433A Industrial Millwright license Must have 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in food / beverage manufacturing) Must have knowledge of using CMMS, specifically closing work orders, writing completion notes, and logging parts usage Must have automation control troubleshooting experience (PLC, Ladder Logic, Communication, Relays, etc) Must have had exposure to major equipment repairs and overhauling Must have a basic understanding of facilities maintenance, including: building repair and maintenance on steam systems, compressed air, HVAC, and sprinkler systems Competencies Must have drive for process improvement and an eager to learn skillset Must have the ability to problem solve reasonable complex situations Work Conditions Must be flexible to work day shift or afternoon shift Must be flexible to work over weekends if needed Must be able to work 8-to-12-hour shifts if needed Must have a full set of tools to use on site, toolbox will be provided to store personal tools Must wear PPE designed for food manufacturing (Bump Caps, Safety Glasses, Hair Nets, Beard Nets, Uniforms, and Safety Shoes) Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, crawl underneath equipment and work at heights Strong ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a safe and positive work environment
