DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Impact and Responsibilities: * Assist project teams in designing electrical systems for various building facilities under the supervision of a Senior Electrical Designer / Electrical Engineer. * Apply your working knowledge of electrical design and supporting calculations, including: * Single line drawings * Feeder sizing * Panel and distribution board sizing * Motor control schedules * Fault and voltage drop calculations * Design systems for power distribution, lighting (indoor and outdoor), power generation, controls, life safety (e.g., fire alarm, public address, nurse call), voice/data communications, basic security/CCTV systems, and lighting calculations. * Check drawings for dimensional and graphic accuracy, design suitability, and adherence to drawing standards. * Prepare drawings in AutoCAD and Revit. * Interface with clients, contractors, and sales reps. * Prepare project documentation and coordinate with other engineering disciplines. * Conduct site visits, reviews, and assist with contract administration. * Lead an internal team through multiple projects concurrently. * Work collaboratively with clients to meet project needs. REQUIREMENTS Qualifications: * 1-3 years of related professional experience preferred. * Background as an Engineer-in-Training, Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.), Technologist-in-Training, or Electrician is a strong asset. * Electrical Journeyman certificate within Alberta or an inter-provincial seal is considered a strong asset. * Experience in commercial, retail, office, residential, and institutional projects. * Working knowledge and understanding of provincial and federal electrical and building codes. * Excellent communication and leadership skills. * Ability to work well in a team environment and share ideas. * Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Requires 1-3 years of professional experience with a background as an EIT, CET, or Electrician. Must have a working knowledge of provincial and federal electrical and building codes.
