Cardiovascular Investigation Unit (CVIU) St. Joseph's Hospital - London, ON Full Time Salary Range: $44.66 - $57.99 /hour The Cardiovascular Investigation Unit (CVIU) at St. Joseph's Health Care London provides noninvasive diagnostic cardiac testing including echocardiography, holter monitoring, electrocardiograms (ECGs) and exercise stress testing. We are supported by a team of cardiac sonographers, cardiologists, registered technicians, supervisors and clerks. Our tests are performed by registered professionals and interpreted by leading physicians. The Charge Technologist provides day-to-day leadership to Echocardiographers and ECG Technicians at St. Joseph's Hospital and Parkwood Hospital. Accountable for day-to-day operations and coordination of human and equipment resources, the Charge Technologist will utilize their clinical and leadership skills to ensure quality of patient care, efficiency and cost effectiveness. Essential Qualifications Valid registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario with a specialty of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMS) Diploma graduate of a recognized Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasound or Sonography Program OR a degree in a health-related field and a Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasound certificate of a post graduate program Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA Evidence of ongoing professional development Impeccable organizational, interpersonal and communication skills Experience communicating effectively with internal and external customers Demonstrated expertise in providing excellent customer service Demonstrated ability to work independently Demonstrated ability in creative problem solving Demonstrated adaptability as well as strong organizational skills to meet the changing needs of the area Demonstrated personal and professional accountability and initiative to achieve and ensure high-quality examinations A commitment to complete other educational requirements as deemed necessary to support the CVIU Program Demonstrated leadership skills Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of adult education Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 5 years' experience as a cardiac sonographer Proficiency in French would be an asset Previous participation and experience in research an asset Teaching and Research St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. Requirements
