SUMMARY: The position of Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for the quality control of work as it relates to CNC machining and assembly. The position will report to the Director, Continuous Improvement and Quality Assurance. Company matching contributions to retirement savings plan (RSP) Comprehensive group benefit plan including medical, dental & life insurance coverage Employee Assistance Program MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Set up, program, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and vision inspection systems for precise dimensional inspection of plastic and metal parts. Perform in-process and final inspections to verify conformance to engineering drawings, GD&T standards, and quality specifications. Use hand measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators) for accurate measurements within tight tolerances. Interpret part drawings and CAD models to execute detailed dimensional, functional, and visual inspections. Document inspection results, deviations, and non-conformances per job sheets and customer requirements. Conduct routine calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure measurement accuracy. Maintain a safe, clean work environment adhering to health and safety standards. Analyze quality issues, communicate findings clearly, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on root cause analysis and continuous improvement. QUALIFICATIONS: TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE Completion of Post Secondary Diploma or Certificate in Quality an asset. 2-5 years experience in a CMM Operator/QC Technician role with solid knowledge and experience with CMM programming and operation. GEO Measure/MCOSMOS experience Strong computer skills Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings BEHAVIOURAL Decision Making: Utilizing effective process to make decisions. Teamwork: Working effectively with others in a machine shop environment Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude with a strong attention to detail. Interpersonal Skills: Effectively communicating, building rapport and relating well to people. The expected rate range for this role is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour. Individual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, job-related factors, and shift worked. Requirements
