Your Opportunity Stantec’s Energy team in western Canada is currently offering exciting opportunities for Electrical Engineers to work on a variety of HV/EHV AC and DC substation projects throughout North America. The Stations Electrical Design team is looking to fill the role of an Electrical Engineer-in-Training. Reporting to the Electrical Team Lead, the Electrical EIT will work under the supervision of a Senior Engineer to develop skills and gain experience in performing engineering design. Your Key Responsibilities * Perform engineering studies such as power flow, short circuit, grounding, lightning protection, insulation coordination, TRV, cable ampacity, rigid and flexible bus, lighting, etc. * Conduct detailed design of substations, including switchyard layouts, sections, grounding plan/details, cable routing, AC/DC distribution, major equipment specifications, single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, marking, design calculations, etc. * Prepare technical specifications for major equipment, construction, and testing & commissioning. * Provide technical support for procurement, construction and commissioning. * Assist in preparing proposals, project plans and estimates. * Coordinate with other disciplines during project execution to solve challenging technical issues. * Follow internal QA/QC procedures to deliver high quality engineering service to clients. * Conduct site visits to verify existing installation, define project scope, prepare for detailed design, and provide construction site supports as required. * Drafting work may be required in order to complete deliverables. Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week. Exigences

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and be eligible for registration as an EIT with EGBC. The role requires 2–6 years of relevant experience and proficiency in industry-standard engineering software and design codes.
