About the Role The Tool Technician Level 1 will work closely with other Tool Technicians in the assembly and testing of Steelhaus products by utilizing various hand tools and assembly processes. The Tool Technician will support Shipping/Receiving and Quality department. Duties and Responsibilities Protecting their own and others’ health and safety at or in the vicinity of the work site. Cooperating with their employer or supervisor by following health and safety rules for the job. Using all hazard controls and wearing personal protection equipment designated or provided by the employer or required by the OHS legislation. Refraining from causing or participating in harassment and violence. Reporting health and safety concerns and conditions to their employer or supervisor. Participating in any training provided by the employer. Cooperating with any person exercising a duty under the OHS legislation. Communication with their colleagues, supervisors, and managers. General Labor Performing routine housekeeping around the shop. Manual & mechanical Lifting & moving equipment, materials and supplies. Prepping equipment prior to testing. Conducting pre-use inspections of mobile equipment. Operating pallet jack. Setting up and operating overhead crane for lifting. Assembly Preparing tools for building. Building basic tools. Use of hand tools. Shipping & Receiving Manual & mechanical Loading tools into crates for shipment. Required Abilities, Knowledge, Experience Basic computer skills (MS office). Skilled in the use of various hand tools. Ability to communicate with well with others.
