THE ROLE As an Overhead Service Crane Technician, you will be working at various manufacturing plants throughout the Hamilton area, repairing overhead cranes. This is a great permanent opportunity for someone who enjoys traveling to various sites while working for a reputable, well-established company that treats you like a family member. You will be given a work truck to travel to different plants to perform repair services and preventative maintenance on the cranes. The position is based out of Hamilton but 90% of your time is working offsite. We are looking for someone with 5 years' of experience as an overhead crane technician. ADVANTAGES Great starting pay of $50–$57/hour to start Day shift: Monday to Friday, 7 am – 3 pm Permanent position based in Hamilton, ON. Overtime and double-time pay for on-call work (rotation basis) Opportunity for advancement and career growth Fantastic team of people that you get to work with Great benefits: RRSP matching, medical, dental, vision, and paramedical coverage Provide paid time off Tool and safety boot allowance Company events, great culture, and working conditions Company truck and cell phone provided RESPONSIBILITIES: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions Determine extent of repair required Respond to after-hour service calls / on-call Resolve emergency breakdown situations Provide excellent customer service Adjust the equipment and repair or replace the defective part Keep maintenance reports and documentation Perform crane inspections, repairs, and installations and respond to breakdown calls Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts REQUIREMENTS: 5 years of experience as an overhead crane technician or 8000 hour on overhead cranes Certified electrician Mechanical aptitude Excellent people and communication skills, both verbal and written Lifting up to 50lbs Knowledge and understanding of structural, electrical, and mechanical systems Able to work in elevated areas Available to work overtime and on call as required Must have reliable own transportation, G License in good standing
