We're looking for a motivated co-op student eager to gain hands-on experience supporting automation, PLC programming, electrical controls, and manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced production environment. About the Role Reporting to the Global Leader, Continuous Improvement, the Engineering Technician Co-op Student will support manufacturing automation, electrical controls, machine commissioning, PLC programming, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives while working alongside our Engineering and Maintenance teams. Location Acton, Ontario Responsibilities * Assist with electrical control panel design and panel layout. * Support power and control wiring for production machinery and automation equipment. * Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs (Siemens experience is an asset). * Assist with machine commissioning, testing, and validation. * Troubleshoot electrical, control, and PLC-related issues on manufacturing equipment. * Prepare and update electrical schematics and technical documentation. * Perform hands-on electrical panel wiring and installation activities. * Assist with pneumatic system troubleshooting and basic circuit modifications. * Support preventive maintenance and continuous improvement projects. * Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, or a related post-secondary program. * Knowledge of industrial electrical controls and electrical panel design. * Familiarity with PLC programming; Siemens experience is considered an asset. * Ability to interpret electrical schematics and control drawings. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar software is an asset. * Manufacturing experience is considered an asset. * Strong communication and teamwork skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office. * Eagerness to learn and contribute in a manufacturing environment.
