This position is for a weekly rotating shift with typical shift hours of Monday – Friday 5:00am to 3:00pm and 3:00pm to 1:00am. Weekends and overtime as needed. CIL Vaughan Plant is hiring a Full-Time Maintenance Technician with an Opportunity to Build Your Career As a Full Time Maintenance Technician, you will perform a variety of general maintenance responsibilities in the maintenance of equipment to support equipment reliability and plant operations. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and improving mechanical and electrical systems across the plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities May Include Inspect buildings, electrical systems, grounds, and equipment to ensure safe, well-maintained conditions, and identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair. Perform troubleshooting and repairs; replace light bulbs, ballasts, and fuses. Help with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting/changing filters, and bearings. Knowledge of Work on AC/DC machines. Complete maintenance work orders as assigned and promptly. Identify and perform basic service and repair on plumbing fixtures, open clogged lines, and drains. Identify and assist with pump and repair work. Operate a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools including saws, routers, drills, sanders, planers, drill presses, and different hand tools. Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment; recommend tools, supplies, and equipment for purchase. Basic ability to interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, or oral instruction on a variety of structures related to the construction project. Install or replace plugs, switches, and outlets. Wear proper protective equipment while performing job responsibilities (i.e., goggles, helmet, back brace, knee pads). Perform assigned tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner independently. Report to Maintenance Manager Qualifications Three years related maintenance work experience Millwright certification, Journeyman or Red Seal credential required. Candidate must be clean shaven for PPE requirements. Knowledge of proper safety techniques and procedures while using chemicals, power tools, hand tools, and equipment; knowledge of proper lifting techniques Operate heavy equipment. Available to work a rotating schedule of 10 hour shifts, Monday-Friday. Available to work overtime on Saturday as needed or on a regular basis. Sunday work is rare but a possibility depending on the situation Understanding of building codes and "International Building Code" (IBC) Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada without employment-based visa sponsorship (now or in the future).
