Job summary

Total Group of Companies is looking for a Junior Fire Systems Technician to join our team of fire & life safety professionals! This is an entry-level position ideal for someone looking to start a career in the fire protection industry. This role will support inspections, maintenance, and basic service work across a variety of fire protection systems including fire alarm, sprinkler, extinguishers, and suppression systems. You will work under the guidance of experienced technicians and receive on-the-job training. Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Fire Systems Technician, daily tasks and activities include but are not limited to: Assist with inspection, service, and basic troubleshooting of fire protection systems Support repairs, upgrades, and maintenance tasks as directed Help prepare inspection and deficiency reports Assist with equipment setup, teardown, and general job site tasks Maintain company equipment and vehicles Follow all safety procedures and company policies Participate in scheduled inspections and service work The ideal candidate would possess the following traits: Strong willingness to learn and take direction Reliable and punctual Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills Safety driven mindset Positive attitude and strong work ethic To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria: Authorized to work in Canada, and possess a valid SIN Valid Driver’s License (clean abstract preferred) Willing to travel as required and work after hours/weekends as needed Willing to participate in a rotating on-call schedule (once trained) Ability to obtain standard oilfield and safety training tickets as required Qualifications Previous experience in construction, mechanical, electrical, or safety-related work is an asset but not required Interest in fire protection systems and safety services Basic mechanical or technical aptitude Willingness to work toward certifications (such as CFAA) over time Ability to read basic drawings or willingness to learn
