We are an industry leader in transport refrigeration, mobile air conditioning systems, auxiliary power units (APUs), and specialty vehicle climate solutions. We are currently looking for a skilled and motivated Mobile Air Conditioning & APU Technician to join our Edmonton team. This position is ideal for a Journeyman Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic, experienced automotive AC technician, heavy-duty mechanic, or mechanically inclined apprentice looking to grow into a specialized and highly in-demand trade. If you enjoy diagnostics, hands-on problem solving, field service work, and working on a wide variety of equipment, this role offers the opportunity to build a long-term career with a stable and growing company. WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON As a Mobile Air Conditioning & APU Technician, you will work on: * Thermo King TRIPAC Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) * Vehicle air conditioning systems * Mobile heating and climate control systems * Heavy truck and specialty vehicle heating and cooling equipment * Electrical and control systems related to climate equipment * Transport refrigeration units and auxiliary power units You will support customers across transportation, construction, oilfield, municipal, and industrial sectors throughout Alberta. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Your responsibilities will include: * Diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mobile air conditioning and APU systems * Performing preventative maintenance inspections and system performance checks * Installing, starting up, and commissioning climate control equipment * Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals * Operating diagnostic software and testing equipment * Completing accurate service documentation and work orders * Providing field service support at customer locations throughout Edmonton and Alberta * Operating a company service vehicle for mobile repairs and installations * Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment * Communicating professionally with customers and internal team members * Following and participating in company safety policies and procedures WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR We are looking for candidates who bring: * Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities * Experience with refrigeration, air conditioning, automotive AC, heavy-duty equipment, transport refrigeration, or mobile climate systems * A positive attitude and strong work ethic * Ability to work independently in a fast-paced service environment * Strong communication and customer service skills * Commitment to quality workmanship and safety PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Journeyman Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic certification * Experience with vehicle air conditioning systems or transport refrigeration * Experience with transport refrigeration units and/or auxiliary power units * Experience reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting controls WE WILL ALSO CONSIDER * Apprentices currently enrolled in a recognized trade program * Automotive AC technicians * Heavy-duty mechanics with climate system experience * Candidates with commercial, residential, or industrial refrigeration and air conditioning experience looking to transition into mobile systems WHY JOIN THERMO KING WESTERN?
